Künstler und Werk
Die frühe Begegnung mit Werken Ernst Barlachs erweckte in Franz Robert Czieslik den Wunsch, sein Leben der Bildhauerei zu verschreiben. Erste naturalistische Arbeiten, die anfänglich unter Anleitung von Walter Strübing in seiner Heimatstadt Wismar entstanden, mündeten zunehmend in Werken, die das Figürliche abstrahieren.
Anfang der neunziger Jahre machte er auch Ausflüge in Entwicklung und Bau von Möbeln, die, der Formensprache des Materials folgten.
Auch entwickelte und baute er verschiedenste Möbelstücke aus dem PKW Trabant.
Seit 1998 löste sich der Künstler weitestgehend von der Kleinplastik und entwickelt Skulpturen, die der Formensprache des Holzes folgen. Die Zeichnung ist im Material … so der Künstler die Fusion von Baum und Skulptur ist das Ziel. Diese Arbeiten bezeichnet er seit der Jahrtausendwende als Baumturen.
Die Kettensäge dominiert dabei über Holzhammer und Bildhauerbeitel, die jedoch zur Nachbearbeitung unersetzlich bleiben.
Bevorzugte Baumarten des Bildhauers sind Robinie und Eiche. Die Robinie sei einzigartig, da sie so viele Unterschiede im Wachstum anbietet, sagt der Künstler.
In seiner Zeit als Assistent und Meisterschüler von Prof. Rupprecht Geiger in München (2000-2005), begann er sich verstärkt sich mit der konkreten Kunst auseinander zu setzen – Farbe und Formen beginnen zunehmend von Bedeutung für seine künstlerische Arbeit. Andere Materialien und Ausdrucksformen scheinen zur Umsetzung neuer Ideen notwendig.
Es entstanden Rauminstallationen und die „Künstlergruppe Farbrausch“ mit Werner Neff, Jens Carstensen und Tom Sauerbier.
Auf dem Weg zu Arbeiten aus Acrylglas und Glas kam er durch den Formenbau in der Bildguss Werkstatt der Gebr. Ihle in Rabenau 2002 zum Arbeiten in Metall. Es entstand der Zyklus „Tanz der Liebenden“ in Kombination von Aluminium und Bronzegüssen.
Neben allen Projekten arbeitete er dennoch stehts mit Holz zu dem er eine magische Verbindung zu haben scheint , seit 2001 hat „Farbe als Element“* auch bei seinen „Baumturen“ immer wieder einen Platz gefunden. Er setzt so die Auseinandersetzung von „Geist und Materie“ bis heute in der Bildhauerei fort – mit der sich Rupprecht Geiger intensive in der Malerei beschäftigte.
Neben seiner Passion für das Holz, ist das Zusammenspiel, die Fusion, von Skulptur und Malerei sein großes Thema.
Seit 2019 wendet er sich zunehmend auch anderen Materialien wie etwa Sandstein zu. Gern verwendet er dabei auch Stücke die schon bereits vor Generationen durch Steinmetze bearbeitet wurden und bezieht diese bewußt in die Gestaltung mit ein.
